The sales figures of automobile players for the FY 2018-19 are out. Automobile giant Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL) has registered annual domestic sales of 183,787 units during FY18–19. With this, the auto major recorded 8% growth in the financial year.HCIL had sold 170,026 cars during FY17-18.

Elaborating further, HCIL Senior Vice President and Director (Sales and Marketing) Rajesh Goel said the shift towards SUVs is a global phenomenon. "India also has a similar trend and going forward one has to keep looking at the most optimum product which can be launched... To deliver maximum value to the customer, and that is what we intend to do," he said.

The car has recorded over 30,000 sales in the first three months of launch, which is the highest sales number recorded by any new model launched by HCIL in its 20-year history, the company said in a statement.
