While addressing a press conference on Cyclone Vayu in Gujarat's Gandhinagar, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani said, "More than 2.75 Lakh people have been evacuated. All sea-related activities have been stopped. All departments are on alert. Senior Ministers and Senior Secretaries have been sent to control rooms of district administration, they are monitoring the situation. Planning had been done in advance."

The Western Railway has decided to short-terminate or cancel some of its trains passing through areas of Gujarat that are likely to be affected by cyclone Vayu that is likely to hit the Gujarat coast on Thursday morning.

A deep depression over the east-central and adjoining southeast Arabian Sea has intensified into cyclonic storm ‘Vayu’ and is likely hit the Gujarat coast by June 13.While speaking to ANI, Deputy Director General Meteorology, Mumbai IMD, KS Hosalikar said, "Cyclone 'Vayu' is expected to hit the coast in Gujarat between Porbandar and Veraval early 13th June morning speeding up to 110-120 kmph and gusting up to 135-140 kmph”. Mumbai will also be affected but not severely. Cyclone is expected to cross from 250-300 km away, parallel to the Mumbai coast tomorrow, early morning. A cyclonic warning has been issued for fishermen & people living near the coastline confirmed Hosalikar.
Many flights were either diverted or delayed travelling to and from Chhatrapati Shivaji International Terminus.
Low-cost carrier GoAir has now warned its passengers to and from Mumbai airport to check their flight status.
Heavy rainfall warning along with high wind speed has been issued in Saurashtra region and Kutch district of Gujarat for June 12, 13 and 14 due to a depression in the Arabian Sea, which is likely to turn into a severe cyclonic storm.While speaking to ANI, India Meteorological Department, Director Jayant Sarkar said, "A low-pressure area formed over South-East and adjoining Lakshadweep and East-Central Arabian Sea. It is very likely to intensify into a depression over Southeast and adjoining East-Central Arabian Sea during the next 48 hours. It is likely to move north-northwestwards and intensify further into a cyclonic storm during subsequent 24 hours." IMD has issued several warning for deportation.
