The update was spotted by WABetaInfo which keeps and eye on latest WhatsApp features. It said that the support has been removed temporarily but didn't mention the reason behind the move. "WhatsApp has remotely disabled the AppStore shortcut in the Sticker Store, on iOS!" it tweeted.
WhatsApp had provided a shortcut to the App Store and Google Play Store within the app for iOS and android devices, respectively. This allowed users to download stickers directly from the app. The option to get stickers appeared at the bottom of the sticker store. Even though it is still showing on android devices, the iOS users cannot download stickers from within the app. However, there is no need to worry.

To get WhatsApp stickers now, the users need to go to the App Store and download the packs from there. They can then open the pack and add the stickers to WhatsApp. The added stickers will reflect in the messaging platform and can be send from there. As far as the shortcut is considered, it is not clear till when it will remain disabled.
The stickers feature was launched earlier this year for both the platforms. The feature allows the users to express themselves in a new way, apart from the existing features like emojis and GIFs. "Whether with a smiling teacup or a crying broken heart, stickers help you share your feelings in a way that you can't always express with words. To start, we're launching sticker packs created by our designers at WhatsApp and a selection of stickers from other artists," WhatsApp had said in a blog spot.
The company had also added support for third-party sticker packs to allow designers and developers around the world to create stickers for WhatsApp.
