Chana prices moved down by 1.15 per cent to Rs 6,082 per quintal in futures trade today as participants booked profits at prevailing levels, driven by easing demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in October fell Rs 71, or 1.15 per cent, to Rs 6,082 per quintal with an open interest of 24,170 lots.
Likewise, the commodity for delivery in September was trading lower by Rs 69, or 1.11 per cent, to Rs 6,163 per quintal in 26,610 lots.
Analysts said besides profit-booking by traders at existing levels, fall in demand in the spot market against ample stocks position mainly led to the decline in chana prices at futures trade.
