Amazing! Tejas Express coaches get swankier upgrade, luxurious aircraft like features; to roll out soon
After successfully turning out India’s first semi-high speed train set Train 18, ICF is now involved in rolling out the swanky, modern and feature filled coaches for the Indian Railways special train, Tejas Express, that has redefined train travel in India. These coaches are capable of running at a speed of 160 kmph. ICF is now planning to manufacture 23 Tejas Coaches of which 18 will be air-conditioned chair cars, 2 are air-conditioned executive chair cars and 3 power cars. These coaches have been allotted by Railway Board for Northern Railway.
Tejas Express: Roll out on November 30
Indian Railways has planned to roll out the first set of Tejas coaches from ICF Furnishing Division of ICF on November 30, 2018, and it will be flagged off by a senior official of ICF.
Tejas Express: Sandwich Glass windows
These Tejas Express coaches have modern and passenger-friendly features, such as Sandwich Glass windows with motor operated blinds, onboard entertainment with Live TV, Audio, Video, and folding snack tray concealed below the hand rest of the seats!

Tejas Express - Bio-vacuum toilets, Sealed Vestibules/Gangways: Easy coach-to-coach passageways provided - Automatic Sliding coach and entry doors.
Tejas Express: First for Indian Railways features
Tejas Express - USB charging point: This is placed behind every seat. LED Lighting inside the mirror with a touch button on the surface in the toilets.
Tejas Express: Security Cameras
Tejas Express - CCTV cameras: These are located both inside the compartments and in the entrance points outside.
Tejas Express: Wide and large seats
Unlike the earlier Tejas Express coaches where seats are large to accommodate the audio-visual display, the Tejas coaches manufactured by ICF have normal sized seats with audio-visual display units well fitted behind every seat, without compromising on the aesthetics of the interiors.
Tejas Express: Seating for 78 passengers
Like the Shatabdi Coaches, Tejas Express coaches also have a seating capacity of 78 passengers in each of the normal air-conditioned chair cars (in 3+2 Seating row arrangement) and 56 passengers in the Executive class air-conditioned chair cars (in 2+2 Seating row arrangement).
